The
owner,
having had her first child had no questions
as to where to enroll her for the best
childcare and development possible. Mary
Humphries, owned and operated Early Years
Child Development Center in Monroe. Having a
love for children and being at the child
care center everyday, she began to enjoy and
appreciate what was happening with the
development of other children, as well as
her own child. While interacting and
watching the developmental growth of the
children at the center, I feel I became a
better mother.
In 2003, Mary
spoke about her retirement and plans for the
center. I expressed to Mary that I was
interested in continuing her dream and
making my own dreams come true. Mary got me
started on the road to child development and
quality childcare by enrolling me in Child
Development Associate (CDA) courses and
allowed me the opportunity for experience as
a substitute for the center. Through this
course I have gained more education and
experience for personal and professional
growth. I strive to become as knowledgeable
and respected as Mary Humphries in the early
childhood field.
The
founder, expecting
more for her two children from the available
child care centers in Monroe, envisioned a
center that would prepare children for
school and life by offering developmental
opportunities full of wonder and the joy of
learning. The vision began in her home as a
family childcare home provider and within a
few years she became a licensed childcare
center provider. With 13 years of
experience and the additional purchase of an
existing childcare facility and a center
name change came the birth of Early Years
Child Development Center. The management
strives to maintain a standard of excellence
and enthusiasm that the staff, parents,
children and community deserve.
